Ricky from Silver Sun Alpacas sells a fantastic bamboo fiber trio.  Undyed white, black carbonised and the a coloured piece.  I have 6 sets of these in my possession right now.  A Midnight blue, Emerald Green, Royal Purple, Rose Pink, Wine and Fuschia.  And I have a plan for these!  Check it out...2 yarns - Jewel and Pinks.

Which once they are finished should make fabulous shawls or wraps or something...maybe even a tank top!

Handspun Swap!

I was recently in a handspun swap over on Ravelry.  The requirements were you either sent your partner 2 different handspun yarns that were 100 yards minimum each or one handspun and a 4 oz bump of fiber, anything else included is extra and you're not to be disappointed if all you get is the fiber.  Which was good for me, spring is a bit tight budget wise so i didn't really have money for extras in my box.  But I made up for it with the massive yarns I sent!

First from The Counting Sheep Farm - 6oz of A Bit of Blue spun bulky thick & thin and then plied with a laceweight single of itself.  It turned out pretty neat in the end!

Second: Cool Lights - Birds of Paradise art batts - there were 3 so I'm assuming 3 oz...corespun (I'm not that great at corespun but this was the best one yet) onto some yellow acrylic.

And then I got this huge package in the mail!  Talk about awesome!  JQKnits from Ravelry sent me all these goodies!

okay not the stuff at the wayback left...That's my pre washed silver sun alpacas yarn that I somehow missed getting out of the picture...but all the rest!  A big bulky yarn plied with thread.  It's greart for fondling.  The pink batts which are all the same stuff as the yarn only carded together instead of picked.  Those green batts which are very seaglass like and sooo soft and poofy - they were "filler" guess the box wasn't full enough for Jaquetta.  And huckleberry soap and a huckleberry chocolate bar!

Thank you so much JQ!

Frustrated!

AAAAARRRRRRG!  I've upgraded e107 before, not a problem.  So what the rancid, bloody buffalo dung is the problem this time??  I've used 3 different upgrade versions then said screw it and went straight to a full reinstall and the god damn thing is still sitting at the old hackable version!!!  I just want to update so I can blog about more fibery things and dancey things!!  And sewing things.  So much to blog about and can I do it?  No cause I can't update and hostpapa keeps having to suspend my account so they can block the fricking hackers!!

BLAAARRRGG!!

Edit:  And I am an idiot again.  If you don't put the update in the right folder of course it's not going to work.  Der.

Thar be Tulips!

Basement dwelling roommate and I raked out the whole yard on Sunday.  I still hurt.  Who'd have thunk that my legs would hurt more than my shoulders?

But look what I found in my beds!

Tulips!  I think...and not at all where I would have expected to see them!  These ones were planted in the fall and I don't think I should have seen them until a bit later in the season...

And Columbines! These were devestated by slugs last year...I didn't think they would be back at all!

And of course the lupines, if they survive one season you'll never get rid of them!

Yay Spring!  Soon...soon there will be real sun outside!
