Bollybeams

I'm part of Moonwood Farm's fantastical Moonbeam Club.  October's set was called Bollywood, based on some costumes from So You Think You Can Dance...which I don't watch so I have no idea which costumes they are.  I thought I had a picture of the original bolly beams sent to me but I don't...however I did take a pic of the second batch!

The ones on the left are leftovers from the original Monnbeam Club batch...the ones on the right are from Roo's attempt to recreate the original splendor (which she finally did, with better notes!).  i didn't include the ones on the right...the colours were way to different.  I'm saving them...think maybe I'll spin them up and then ply them with some nice black...make the colours seem more bright.

After much spinning and petting and loving I came up with these!

Yes...those are toilet paper rolls...but they are toilet paper rolls full of bollywood single goodness.

Into the box they go!  This is the first time I've plied using the box method.  I've tried the center pull ball theory and that made for a whole lotta broken singles.  I've read that article on the plying ball a bunch of times...but I'm apparently blind cause I can't seem to find any actual instructions on how to do it in said article...it just says how awesome this method is for plying.

Anyway.  I made me some really really really pregnant spindle!

It was really getting messy towards the end...I didn't wrap it appropriately at the beginning...didn't realise how much there was going to be!  Hope I don't make that mistake again.

That is one full skein-er thing.  And my newest spindle - which is what I plied this whole messy on!

Pretty colours!  And now I get to wash and thwack!!  Excited!

It's done!  Yay!  Well sort of...need to take the waist piece in and up.  But that doesn't involve any sort of gathering at all!  Which is fabulous!

Remy thought it was pretty cool too.

He's trying to be super cute to make up for the fact that he's forgotten what the litter box is for.

Yay!  This totally made my weekend!  Nothing like a Friday Phat delivery.

Noticing how grainy my camera has become is not making my weekend however.

The top box is my Jareth batts from Ambrosia and Bliss.  And i got a lovely present of baby alpaca!

It's supposed to be grey...but again my camera seems to be dying a rapid and ugly death.  These are so amazing.  Remy wanted to pet them too, which is why they are safely back in their bags!

I got a mask!

Tweak was being helpful as usual.

Wow!  Fluff boxes sure are full looking!

Stuff!

A waltz headband patter from Katherine Vaughn Designs
Awesome crabby gift tags from Knit it Up - I coveted these in a very bad way.
Witchy Sheep stitch marker from Designs by Tami - This is the very first stitch marker I have gotten from her! And the first thing that happened to it?  Tweak tried to nom it.  He will not be repeating this experiment.
Pretty glass bead stitch marker form Prairie Comforts

I know I would normally list what everything is and post links but the DBF dismantled my computer for parts and is now regretting it while I spend too much time on his computer so this month will just have to wait.  I'll try and edit in more links later!!

New costume!

Yay I'm making a new belly dance costume!!  Boo I lost a very important piece of it.

Isn't it shiney and awesome??  But there's a big pendant/teardrop piece that was fully beaded and ready to be attached to the bra that is missing...like poof it's gone missing.  I'm very sad about it.  It was a lot of work and has an expensive glass piece in the middle that I can't really afford to replace right now...I have searched ever bag I've used in the last month...looked under all the furniture upstairs and down and I cannot find it.  I'm really afraid it got knocked off the dresser by le chat and fell into the garbage.  But I'll just keep plugging along...maybe it will show up magically.
