Bollybeams

I'm part of Moonwood Farm's fantastical Moonbeam Club.  October's set was called Bollywood, based on some costumes from So You Think You Can Dance...which I don't watch so I have no idea which costumes they are.  I thought I had a picture of the original bolly beams sent to me but I don't...however I did take a pic of the second batch!

The ones on the left are leftovers from the original Monnbeam Club batch...the ones on the right are from Roo's attempt to recreate the original splendor (which she finally did, with better notes!).  i didn't include the ones on the right...the colours were way to different.  I'm saving them...think maybe I'll spin them up and then ply them with some nice black...make the colours seem more bright.

After much spinning and petting and loving I came up with these!

Yes...those are toilet paper rolls...but they are toilet paper rolls full of bollywood single goodness.

Into the box they go!  This is the first time I've plied using the box method.  I've tried the center pull ball theory and that made for a whole lotta broken singles.  I've read that article on the plying ball a bunch of times...but I'm apparently blind cause I can't seem to find any actual instructions on how to do it in said article...it just says how awesome this method is for plying.

Anyway.  I made me some really really really pregnant spindle!

It was really getting messy towards the end...I didn't wrap it appropriately at the beginning...didn't realise how much there was going to be!  Hope I don't make that mistake again.

That is one full skein-er thing.  And my newest spindle - which is what I plied this whole messy on!

Pretty colours!  And now I get to wash and thwack!!  Excited!
